Cattle Finance Calculator
A cattle financing calculator for Canadian producers. Work out the payment, the total cost of borrowing, and what the financing costs you per head and per hundredweight — before you go to the sale.
Your numbers stay yours.
Every figure is calculated on your own device. Nothing you type is transmitted or stored.
Payment schedule
| # | Payment | Interest | Principal | Balance |

An estimate, not an offer. This calculator uses the figures you enter and standard interest arithmetic. It is not a quote, an approval, or a commitment to lend, and the rate you type is your own assumption rather than a rate offered by Foothills. Actual terms are set after a fieldman reviews your operation and the cattle. Everything is calculated on your own device — nothing you enter is transmitted or stored.
How to Read These Numbers
Three things worth knowing before you use the result to make a decision.
Compare totals, not rates
Two offers at the same rate can cost very different amounts once fees and term are in. The figure to compare between lenders is the total cost of borrowing in dollars.
Per hundredweight is the real unit
You buy and sell cattle by the hundredweight, so financing cost per cwt puts borrowing into the same units as everything else you decide with.
Test it against a bad year
Run it again with a lower sale price and a longer term than you expect. Financing that only works if everything goes right is not financing to sign.
